Bill and I spent a total of 13 years together (K-12) beginning in kindergarden at Christ the King Elementary school. He was always kind and... Oh so funny! I had a secret crush on him in 8th grade. He spent his too short of a life making others laugh (yes he joined the circus) and enlightening the lives of others through Seattle Cancer Care Alliance where he was receiving cancer care and treatment. The world lost a special person when Bill passed. R.I.P. my friend.
Will is another golden friend I first me in Kindergarten oh so many years ago. Will had an amazing confidence and charisma and was a leader of willing followers in our early days growing up . He had one of the most legendary mischievous minds of our time coupled with the same sense of adventure . He helped us all push our limits and I honestly remember talking to him at about 13 years old and saying " let's go do stuff that we can tell our Grandkids about. " Mission accomplished on that note but oddly due to the extremes of some our antics I had to hold off telling some of these tales until my 7 grandsons were old enough to safely hear them. One interesting story was in our paper route days . The PI had a Seattle wide contest that Will won for getting the most new subscriptions on his route . The prize was a trip to New York .This was in 1968 . I just happened to also be going to New York for my one and only trip there with my Family and due to our schedules I was only able to talk to him on the phone but that still made my day . I also went on a trip into the San Juan's with the Anderson Family on their boat in the same timeframe for almost 2 weeks . I'll never forget that trip and I think of him often as my wife Lisa and I live up on Lopez now as much as time allows . I love this guy and could go on and on but maybe a story or two should be told at the reunion .
