I grew up around the corner from Mary Anne's house. We watched the Flintstones together, we were together in Bluebirds and Camp Fire, we shared skiing and guinea pigs. I even went with her family to their summer cabin - I think it was in Duvall. Once in high school, we had three years of German language classes together; we even double-dated occasionally.
Mary Anne, Gina, and I bused to Blanchet together and then carpooled together. She scared the hell out of me once she got her own car to drive. That's when I left her carpool, safely driving myself and my younger sister to school alone, instead of seeing how much fun it could be to watch her run red lights.
She graduated from Western, became an RN, moved to Florida where she married. After that, we lost touch, seeing each other only at reunions. I was sorry to hear about her death. I understand her parents and both brothers passed away prior to Mary Anne's passing.
