I have such fond and funny memories of Mike. We went all through Christ the King together. A truly great guy, gone far too soon! R.I.P. Mike. heart

Of everyone who helped plan and execute Reunions for our class, I most miss Mike and his long phone calls. He contacted so many people, to get them to be part of the reunion, and if you were one of them, how lucky you are. His sudden death rocked many people to the core. His Memorial was a BHS reunion it and of itself.

I first met Mike in kindergarten when we were 4 years old. I remember one of our first encounters and we were in the large boys bathroom in the gym building at CKS and for whatever reason we ended up in a fight . We wrestled around on the floor putting each other in headlocks ,swinging at each other etc. and then just as fast as it started it was over with no clear winner. We walked out of there and were best friends from that point on for the rest of our lives ! Mike and the entire McCarty Family have been extremely important and close to me virtually my entire life and still are . We did cub scouts at their house , I went to the Seattle Worlds Fair with Mike for my seventh Birthday, We did the Great Books program at their house while in grade school and always got off topic of the book which helped me as I very rarely read the entire book. In High School they purchased some property in the Sultan Basin and Dr McCarty basically employed a group of us in one capacity or another for a few years. We cut and sold Christmas trees, made attempts at logging which was fairly serious as it included helicopters, also an attempt at mining as that area once held one of the largest silver deposits in the West. Our adventures continued through our entire life and I miss him greatly ! Mike would help you whenever you asked and actually drove up to snoqualamie pass at 2 in the morning once to tow me home .I could go on for pages but suffice it to say I love this guy and always will . I miss his physical presence and that foghorn voice but he is very much alive to me in my memories and will always be alive in that sense .

Great share Dave. The loss of such a beloved friend brings a unique pain but the wonderful memories live on forever. Mike made a positive difference in this world!
