It's devastating to lose your best friend since 6th grade, especially so suddenly. I still miss her every day.

Below is the link to Maria's obituary. It seems impossible to capture an almost 60-year friendship in words. It started with a piano duet in the 4th grade, through high school and with all that life has brought us throughout the rest of the years. We were total opposites and Terry (my husband) said that he thinks I lived vicariously through her and her many escapades! If it weren’t for her, Terry and I wouldn’t have met at the O’Dea dance that Maria wanted me to go to with her so she could meet up with a guy she was interested in seeing!  As different as we were, we really balanced each other out.

She went through a lot during her later years, especially after the loss of Steve, the love of her life. Although I miss her so much, I am grateful that she has no more pain and that they are reunited. I was truly blessed to have a such a wonderful lifelong friend who was always there for me.
