It is with a great amount of sadness to announce that our classmate, Mark Greengo and my good friend, passed away Sunday morning on September 23rd, 2023 after a short illness.

Mark will be forever remembered for his love of life, Volkswagen's, Kayaking, all things Zebras, illegal fireworks, the louder the better, Black-light's, good music, a well mixed drink and his sarcastic and twisted sense of humor!

Mark and I met in the Fourth grade at Our Lady of the Lake when in Cub Scouts. After OLL, we attended Blanchet together and Seattle University where we both graduated and then began our separate careers. Mark went on to a 30 year career at Boeing where he continued to soak up life with gusto and I jumped into the Education world.

In late August, Arnie Pike, Bob Throckmorton (Class of 75') and I went to visit him in the Hospital in Tacoma. Mark was fully into his element that night as we reminisced about all the good times we had over our 50 plus year of friendship. He was wisecracking until the very end of our visit and we all promised to get together once he was healthy enough to do so.

Unfortunately, God had other plans for Mark and He called him home. I'm sure Mark made one hell of an entrance as he drove his VW insanely fast up to and through the Pearly gates in a four wheel drift, just missing St. Peter by mere inches I'm sure. Unlike the time he slid into my 64" Ford Van in front of Gary Darnell's parents house near Blessed Sacrament. He then went on to claim it was my fault as I was parked in his way! That was Mark, always looking to shift the blame on someone else!

Rest in peace my friend, your earthly travels are done. See you on the other side. Your buds will miss you.

Class of '73 friends: Chuck Bocian, Dan McGeough, Gary Darnell, Arnie Pike, Mike Coleman. Class of'75 Bob Throckmorton.
